The latest version of the famous Pinnacle pedal is loaded with features that will provide you with an arsenal of different tones for pretty much any player.

What is the 'Brown Sound?'  This became synonymous with a Mr Eddie Van Halen back in the 70's.  Van Halen’s guitar tone had distortion by the bucket load.  Distorted guitar tones were what everyone was cranking out in the 1970’s, but what Mr Van Halen achieved was something else entirely. The overdrive gain was immense, but rather than sometimes appearing harsh and akin to the tone that often comes out of heavily overdriven tube amps, his sound was somehow liquid, organic and warm.  He likened the sound he wanted to achieve as being like his brothers on the drums, specifically the snare drum.  He commented “I’ve always thought Alex’s snare drum sounds like he’s beating on a log.” And so was born the idea of a 'Brown Sound.'

Replicating that sound has been notoriously difficult, but the Wampler Pinnacle gets you that much closer. With the addition of the 3 band EQ you can sculpt your tone like never before. They have also added bright and bass boosts, so you can get that fresh tone or the thump of a 4x12”. Then with added “Valve Screamer” based pre gain boost (that you can use when the pedal is bypassed) – we all know how good this style of circuit pushes gain stages… Then, the secret weapon. On the side is the SAG switch. This can allow you to remove that saggy crunch and tighten the response up dramatically, so – this v2 offers not only an updated take on a Wampler classic, but also a plethora of new features that will be irresistible to tone chasers everywhere!
