CTS Potentiometer 450 Series Audio Taper 500K Split Shaft

Guitar pot with a split shaft made by CTS.  The split shaft diameter is for push fit knobs as found on Fender and Gibson.

Audio (log) taper pots are ideal for volume and tone controls on instruments with singlecoil pickups. An audio tapered log pot resolves the perception to the ear in changes in volume or tone by using a logarithmic curve, this sounds more like a steady progressive increase or decrease as the knob is turned.  CTS pots have been used on Fender, guitars for years.

CTS 450 series pots are the top-of-the-line.  The 450 Series feature a brass bushing and shaft, a custom taper for greater accuracy, +/- 9% tolerance for greater consistency and a graphite wiper.
